ForgeとCounterfeit
今日の『ニュースで英会話』<UK ISSUES FIRST PLASTIC BANKNOTE(イギリスが初のプラスチック紙幣を発行する)>より。
- it's harder to forge and stronger than paper ones.
(新しい札は紙のものよりも偽造が難しく、より丈夫である)- the note has security features that make it harder to counterfeit.
<英辞郎 on the WEB>
What is the difference between forgery and counterfeiting? - Quora
The counterfeit is a copy of something, usually produced in quantity, for the purpose of gaining acceptance as the real thing. Thus money, stamps and tickets are counterfeited.
A forgery, on the other hand, is an original creation which may be produced only once or a few times.
